The Paper House Season 5 is the sequel to Netflix's first Spanish-language original series to become a worldwide hit. In Season 5, the bank robbers return for the last time.
There is confusion in the numbering of seasons due to the fact that there is an original numbering, and there are seasons of Netflix. If you count on Netflix, then future episodes are the third part of the second season (each consists of 8 episodes). But it's easier to consider it as a new season, the fifth.
In the beginning, the release date of the fifth season of "The Paper House" was announced - May 8, 2020. But closer to the date, information about the premiere stopped coming. The fourth part of "The Paper House" was a direct sequel to the third, when the team planned to escape from the Bank of Spain. Throughout the season, viewers watched as the team attempted to save Lisbon (played by Itziar Ituno) and Nairobi (Alba Flores) after they were captured.
All this time, they also tried to ward off the threat posed to them by the former hostage of Gandia (Jose Manuel Poga). It all ended dramatically in the season finale when Lisbon was rescued while Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) held a pistol to the head of the professor (Alvaro Morte) in the final minutes of the finale. In the fifth season, viewers will learn the fate of the professor.
The series was filmed for Spanish television but was later bought by the streaming service Netflix. The robbery at the Royal Spanish Mint was not allowed to be filmed at the scene itself. Therefore, it was decided to move the shooting to the building of the National Research Council of the country.
The series has been nominated for five Premios Feroz Awards and two Fotogramas de Plata Awards, which are awarded by the news magazine Fotogramas.
The song, which can be heard several times in the series "The Paper House", is called "Bella Ciao" (Goodbye Beauty) and is a partisan anthem taken from a relatively old Italian folk song. It is known that it was written in the Modena Apennines, and, according to legend, one of the partisans wrote it. Nothing is known about him, except that he was a doctor or paramedic.
During World War II, the Italian resistance fought against the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini to this anthem. The song "Bella Ciao" is used all over the world as an anti-fascist anthem of freedom. This melody has been re-recorded and covered by many popular singers and translated into many languages.
